How Much Does Peacock TV Cost? Monthly Pricing & Plans This June

The Peacock streaming service is a subsidiary of the large media conglomerate NBCUniversal Media Group, named after the NBC peacock logo, and reported around 41 million paid subscribers earlier this year. It offers multiple channels and lots of movies, hit TV shows, and even Peacock Originals.
Current NBC and Bravo shows are included on Peacock, and for the sports entertainment fans, Sunday Night Football, Premier League soccer, and WWE wrestling are also available through their subscription plans. Peacock offers plenty of variety when it comes to streaming, including live sports. Especially notable is the fact that Peacock was also the exclusive streaming home for the 2024 Paris Olympics. That means it could win prominent streaming rights to events such as the Olympics in the future, as well.
Peacock streaming can be accessed through various streaming devices like Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV devices, as well as game consoles like Xbox, PlayStation, and personal computers. For the cost of each Peacock subscription tier and ways to save, continue reading below.

How Much Is Peacock This June?
There are a couple of different Peacock TV plans available for streaming, which can be paid monthly or annually — whatever suits your budget. However, annual subscriptions do offer some cost savings compared to paying monthly.
Peacock Free Trial
Currently there is no general Peacock free trial period from the service itself, most likely as a carryover because of the Olympic Games coverage. There's no indication that the previous 7-day free trial period will come back, but it could be a possibility, especially around the holiday season since Black Friday streaming promotions tend to be popular.
Peacock Free
This entry-level plan is no longer available for new customers; the Peacock free program ended in early 2023.
Peacock Premium: $7.99 a Month
The Peacock Premium plan is ad-supported, and you get daily news, sports, kids content, and Telemundo programming. The ads are estimated to be around five minutes per hour of viewing, but the low monthly cost is a small price to pay for access to hundreds of TV shows and movies.
This tier also allows you to watch Peacock Originals, live events, WWE, and Sunday Night Football. Next-day viewing is also available for current NBC shows. At the time of writing, the Premium plan costs $7.99 monthly, or $79.99 annually (plus applicable taxes for both). Although the name gives the impression that this is a top-tier plan, you're actually just paying for the entry level. This tier gives you access to the majority of the content, but keep in mind you'll still experience ads.
Peacock Premium Plus: $13.99 a Month
To cut way back on commercials, you can pay almost double to get the top-tier subscription called Premium Plus. It will cost $13.99 per month or $139.99 annually, but you'll get 24/7 live TV on your local NBC channel, and also be able to download and watch select titles when not online.
Note there's a disclaimer on Peacock's site that states due to streaming rights, some programming will still contain a small amount of ads. Unfortunately, it seems there's no way around avoiding them completely with this streaming service.
Can You Get Peacock for Free?
In general, you do have to pay for Peacock. But there are ways to get a free subscription of Peacock, thanks to partnerships with other companies. Below are some of the ways you may be able to snag a deal on a free Peacock subscription with other memberships.
Instacart Plus
In a first for the same-day delivery service Instacart, they announced a joint venture with Peacock. With the Instacart Plus membership, you get a free Peacock Premium subscription amongst other convenient benefits.
Xfinity Internet
If you have Xfinity internet service, you may be eligible for a free Peacock Premium subscription, by signing up for the Now TV streaming service. Now TV is yet another streaming platform that costs about $20 a month as an add-on, and has channels like AMC and Discovery . It also includes a subscription to Peacock Premium for no additional cost — as long as you consider you're paying for the other channels and not Peacock itself. The better way to think of this is simply that you're getting various streaming services at notably reduced prices, but this option isn't truly free.
There are a few other StreamSaver internet packages available through Xfinity that give you the streaming services Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV Plus for a reduced price. For more details and restrictions, see below:

That said, Xfinity subscribers of the Gigabit or Gigabit Plus plans can enjoy Peacock Premium for two years at no additional cost. Long-term Xfinity subscribers can potentially get a free Peacock Premium subscription as a reward (Xfinity rewards is free to join). Historically, Platinum or Diamond Xfinity membership users could redeem rewards for free access to Peacock Premium. It should be noted that these levels are based on how long you've been a Xfinity customer — Platinum members are those who have had the service for seven years to 14 years, while Diamond members have had it for more than 14 years.
Getting A Subscription For $3.99/Month
There are a few ways to get discounts from Peacock on the monthly Premium subscription. The deals mentioned below may be limited-time deals, so be sure to check the details before signing up.
Military Discount: Military members can verify their status with SheerID in order to receive Peacock Premium for just $3.99 per month for 12 months. Note that you must reside in the United States to get the Peacock military discount , and you'll have to reverify your status each year. If you don't renew your discount, you'll automatically be charged the regular rate at time of renewal.
Educator Discount: Teachers, school staff, and faculty members at K-12 schools (public or private) or universities may be eligible for a 12-month discounted membership to Peacock Premium . You'll need to use SheerID to get your verification, and then you should be able to receive your code for a discounted membership. Be prepared to reverify each year in order to keep the discount going.
Mastercard x Peacock: World or World Elite Mastercard holders can be eligible for a statement credit for a limited time only. The way it works is you pay the standard monthly amount with your World or World Elite card, and on your monthly statements you'll receive a credit of either $3 per month for the Premium subscription, or $5 per month for Premium Plus.
Student Discounts: There is indeed a Peacock student discount available. Students who are enrolled in an accredited college or university and are at least 18 years of age are eligible to get a Peacock Premium subscription for 12 months at only $2.99 per month. Student status needs to be validated through SheerID, and after a year, you'll be charged the current standard monthly rate at the time of discount expiration. If you want to avoid that, be sure to set a reminder to cancel Peacock before the regular billing starts or reverify your student status.
Price Increases From Previous Years
There has indeed been a price change for Peacock's services. It was announced in May 2024, and the changes went into effect in July 2024. New customers had to pay the increased prices right away, but existing customers didn't see the increase until August 2024. The prices went from $5.99 to $7.99 monthly for the Premium tier and from $11.99 to $13.99 monthly for the Premium Plus tier. Annual plans increased from $59.99 to $79.99 for the Premium plan and from $119.99 to $139.99 for the Premium Plus plan.

Peacock Premium vs. Premium Plus Costs: How Do They Compare?
There's a $6 difference in price between the two plans, but other than that, there's not a ton of perks to push your choice one way or the other. For instance, technically the higher Premium Plus tier is noted as being ad-free, but it's really just a large cutback of ads. A disclaimer notes that there are limited exclusions, so ads will show during select live events, a few shows and movies, and when watching Peacock channels.
As far as entertainment options go, both tiers have more than 80,000 hours of shows, films, and originals; live sports and events; current NBC and Bravo shows; and more than 50 Always-On channels. The higher Premium Plus tier offers limited ads, the ability to download and watch select titles offline, and access to your local NBC channel live 24/7.
Other Factors To Consider This Summer
When deciding on streaming services to subscribe to, it's going to be a highly subjective thing. Your decision will likely be based on the individual offerings of the services, as well as what you enjoy watching, what your budget is, and whether or not you care about interruptions like ads. With that in mind, here are a few pros and cons specifically for Peacock to potentially help you decide.
Pro: The Peacock Premium plan (the most basic one) is included with Instacart+. That's right — if you already have an Instacart+ membership for convenient delivery of groceries, among other perks like promo codes for both new and existing users , then you can also watch Peacock Premium at no additional charge.
Con: There's no free trial (at least right now). Peacock has offered free trials in the past, and there's a good chance they'll return in the future. But at the time of publication, those weren't available.
Pro and Con: Peacock can be bundled now (sort of). Unlike bundles with Hulu , Disney+, and ESPN, which only require you to sign up via one of the services, the only known Peacock bundle is more restrictive. It's neat in that it's bundled with Netflix and Apple TV+, but it's disappointing in that it's a special bundle only available to new and existing Xfinity internet and TV customers.
Given its affordable price tag (even after the increase) and the sheer volume of content available, Peacock is probably well worth it for many streamers. However, options for viewing live sports, as well as titles from networks like Bravo, may make it more worth it for some viewers over others.
Use of Cards with Rotating or Customizable Categories
These cards require a bit more attention but can offer high returns if you activate the right categories at the right time.
1. Chase Freedom Flexâ„ and Discover it Cash Back
- How it Works for Peacock: Both of these cards offer 5% cash back on categories that rotate each quarter (on up to $1,500 in combined quarterly purchases). "Streaming Services" is a frequent and recurring bonus category for both cards.
- Key Benefit: When streaming is the active category, these cards offer a great return.
- Important Note: You must manually activate the new categories each quarter. The benefit is not year-round, so you would only get the 5% back during the specific three months the category is active.
2. U.S. Bank Cash+ Visa Signature Card
- How it Works for Peacock: This unique card allows you to choose two 5% cash-back categories each quarter from a list of options. "Streaming Services" is one of the standard category choices.
- Key Benefit: You can lock in 5% cash back on Peacock for the entire year, as long as you re-select "Streaming Services" as one of your categories each quarter.
- Important Note: Like the rotating cards, you must remember to enroll and choose your categories every three months to continue earning the elevated rewards.
Downloads, Streams, and Parental Controls
Both the Peacock Premium and Premium Plus plans allow you to stream on up to three devices simultaneously, making it a flexible option for families or households with multiple viewers.
The ability to download content for offline viewing is a key perk reserved for Peacock Premium Plus subscribers. However, there are limitations to be aware of: members can download a maximum of 25 titles across all their devices at any given time. Once you begin watching a downloaded title, you have 48 hours to finish it before it expires from your device. This makes it ideal for weekend trips or long commutes, but less so for long-term content hoarding.
For families, Peacock also offers robust parental controls. You can create up to six user profiles and set individual content ratings (from TV-Y to TV-MA) for each one. You can also protect profiles with a PIN to ensure younger viewers can't access mature content.
How to Cancel Your Peacock Subscription
Peacock makes it straightforward to cancel your subscription if you decide the service isn't for you. To avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, simply follow these steps:
- Go to PeacockTV.com and sign in to your account.
- Navigate to your Account section, typically found by clicking your profile icon.
- In the "Your Plan" section, select "Change or Cancel Plan."
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the cancellation.
You will retain access to your plan's features until the end of your current billing period. If you subscribed through a third party like Roku, Apple, or Google Play, you will need to manage and cancel your subscription through that specific service's platform.
